Michelle Almazan Extinction is one of the many important and bad things going on around the world. Some major causes of extinction are habitat loss, an introduced species, pollution, population growth, and overconsumption. Scientist estimate that 150-200 species of plant, insect, bird and mammal become extinct every 24 hours. Researchers estimated that humans have driven at least 680 vertebrate species to extinction, including the woolly mammoth. Some ways that animals go extinct are that they are hunted, their homes are torn down or they have no food. It all starts with us , we could prevent animal extinction by stopping oil rigs in the middle of the ocean, no more illegal hunting, prevent forest fire and floods.
